Dear Secondary Parents,

May exams begin this week. Please encourage your children to gets lots of sleep and to eat well. The purpose of these exams is to help students prepare for what it will be like to take IB exams at the end of grade 12 as well as to provide students an opportunity to demonstrate their learning. The exams take place at the beginning of May to allow teachers the opportunity to assess students’ long-term learning and provide feedback. The timing of the exam allows teachers time to introduce a final unit before the end of the year which will be assessed and included in the quarter four report card.

Please note the following applies to HS students during exam week:
  • High School students are required to attend school only when they are taking an exam. When students have finished their exams, they are able to leave campus.
