Dear Parents,

We look forward to seeing you at Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday. If you have not scheduled conferences, please contact the office for assistance. We will be happy to help arrange your conference schedule. 

In order to have a successful conference please keep the following in mind:
  • Bring a printout of your conference schedule, as it will list meeting times, teacher names, and locations.
  • Please make sure to keep your scheduled meeting times. Each conference will be 10 minutes in length and will be held in the room listed on your schedule.
  • If you arrive early to the conference, please wait and knock when it is your turn for the conference.
  • Students are encouraged to attend the meetings.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, as you will discover just how many stairs your child walks in a day.

Congratulations to our Badminton and Softball teams who spent the weekend competing in their annual tournament.

Please note:

  • Friday, March 30, 2018, is a half day with an 11:30 dismissal. 
  • Monday, April 2, 2018, is no school for secondary students due to Parent Teacher Conferences.
  • Tuesday, April 3, 2018, is a half day with an 11:30 dismissal for secondary students due to Conferences. 


Q3 Report cards:

Quarter 3 Reports will be available on INSIS Thursday, March 29, 2018, in the late afternoon. An email will be sent once the reports are up and available.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:

Parent-teacher conferences will take place next week on April 2-3, 2018. Monday conferences will run from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM and Tuesday from 11:40 - 5:00 PM. As a result, there will be no school for secondary students on Monday, April 2nd.

To schedule conferences, please do so through INSIS. Your child’s involvement in the conferences is highly encouraged. Each conference is 10 minutes in length. Conferences are an opportunity to celebrate successes and to discuss how students can increase their learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

IB Art Exhibition is taking place on Sunday, April 1, 2018, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The reception is at 3:00 PM

Dear Parents,

It is hard to believe, but the third quarter ends this Friday. Quarter 3 Reports will be available on INSIS Thursday, March 29, 2018, in the late afternoon.

In addition, please mark your calendar as parent-teacher conferences will take place on April 2-3, 2018. Sign-up for conferences will be open starting tomorrow March 20, 2018, at 8:00AM. To schedule conferences, please do so through INSIS.  

Your child’s involvement in the conferences is highly encouraged. Conferences are an opportunity to celebrate successes and to discuss how students can increase their learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Please note the following:
  • Monday, April 2nd there is no school for secondary students. Conferences will run from 10:00-7:00 PM.
  • Tuesday, April 3rd is a half day for students. Conferences will run from 11:40-5:00 PM. 
  • If you need help registering for conferences please contact the secondary office for assistance. 
  • Each appointment is 10 minutes in length 
  • Please make sure to allow for passing time between conferences.

Dear Parents,

College Information Evening: Please join the High School Counselor on Thursday at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria for a University information evening that will focus on the United States and Canada.

Middle School Social (Dance and Movie): Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM  the middle school team will be hosting a Middle School social on the 4th floor of the SAS building.  The fee for the event is 3000 ks.  Please know that once students arrive at the event, they are restricted to the area of the event. Students are not permitted to wander the campus.  Students are to remain at the event for the duration of the activity unless a parent (not a driver) picks up their child. Please know all school rules apply as student safety is a priority for ISY.

Attendance: Just another friendly reminder that attendance in secondary school is being monitored.
Please note that students who miss more than 8 school days per semester are in jeopardy of not obtaining credit for their classes and not receiving an ISY diploma. Students in grades 11 and 12 who miss school on a day of an exam, presentation or when an IA is due will be required to bring in a doctor’s note.

All students have been encouraged to see the counselor if you need help with time or task management. If a student is not in the class the following will occur:

Skipping Classes:
Some students are intentionally skipping classes to catch up on homework during the school day. When this occurs, you are missing valuable class time.
  • The classroom teacher will contact the office.
  • Parents will be contacted and informed.
  • Students will be required to attend an after-school study period in the high school office from 3:00-4:00 the following day.

It was great to see so many of you at the Gala on Saturday. Thank you to all those who participated in the event. 

Attendance: Please note that students who miss more than 8 school days per semester are in jeopardy of not obtaining credit for their classes and not receiving an ISY diploma. To help ensure you are attending classes we will ensure the following:
  • If a student is not at school the HS office will call home by 9:00 AM.
  • Students in grades 11 and 12 who miss school on a day of an exam, presentation or when an IA is due will be required to bring in a doctor’s note.

MAP reports will be shared with parents today, Monday, March 5, on INSIS. Parents will receive an announcement from the office via email.

The ACTFL Assessment of Performance Towards Proficiency (AAPPL) begins today in the secondary school during French and Mandarin classes in grades 6-10. It is administered to monitor student progress in French or Mandarin, to assist teachers in responding to instructional needs, and to monitor world language programming.   • April 12-20, 2018: Thingyan Festival- School holiday
  • April 23-27, 2018: Optional week of school for year 12 student. Study sessions will be scheduled for those interested in attending.
  • May 1, 2018: IB Exams begin
  • May 22, 2018: Graduation Ceremony
