Dear Parents,

This weekend the campus was hopping with activity.

• Jack and The Bean Stalk: Thank you to our students, Mr. Fraser and the Music Dept for facilitating a wonderful community event. It was great to have a cross-divisional event bring our community together. It takes a great deal of preparation and commitment on behalf of our students and staff. I hope you were all able to enjoy the performance.
• YAC Basketball Tournament: It was great to have the gym filled with noise and celebration on Thursday and Friday. ISY girls basketball took first place and the boys took second place. Thank you to our Coaches; Cook, Kalu, Peter, and Paul.
• ISY Swim Meet: The ISY swim students continue to do well as they competed on Saturday. 

Just a reminder that your child’s (grades 6-10) Writing Assessment Program (WrAP) results’ report on the INSIS system. To access this report, go to INSIS. Click on your child’s photo, then click on the ‘Documents’ tab.

• Grade 8 student's 18-19 course selection forms are due to the Secondary Office on Wednesday.

• SEASAC MUN - Begins in Singapore
• Set up for the Gala will begin after school on Thursday

Thank you to all those who attended or assisted with International Day. It was great seeing our community on campus celebrating together.

School Musical: 
Buy your tickets, now..... We look forward to seeing you at this year's all-inclusive musical production, Jack and the Beanstalk, a Pantomime by Jilly Mc Neil. This year’s production is a combined school effort with elementary, middle and high school students.This performance is designed to draw a community together and celebrate our student's uniqueness and talents.The humor in our story is appealing to adults, teens and children alike. The emphasis of the show is on enjoyment. Giggle, laugh and let yourself be swept away with the magic of Jack and the Beanstalk.Tickets are on sale 6000 kyats. Tickets are on sale in the secondary office.

WrAP Assessment Results:
The Writing Assessment Program (WrAP) student assessment results will be available on the INSIS system this Friday. An email announcement with accompanying information regarding the WrAP as well as how to access the results will be sent to you this Friday.

• The University of Tulsa visit 12:30 visit
• 4:00-7:00 PM - Trip to Phandeeyar Makerspace. During the trip we will get to explore the Makerspace and create something! The bus will depart ISY at 4pm and we will return to campus by 7:00pm. Please note that your parents are welcome to join us at Phandeeyar, however they need to find their own transportation there and back.

Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful holiday. We look forward to seeing many of you at ISY on Saturday at our Annual ISY International Day.  Please remember that Friday is an early release, students will go home at 11:30. If your child is participating in the cultural talent show there will be a dress rehearsal from 11:30AM-1:30PM.

Grade 12 students will take their IB Mock exams March 8 -14, 2018.  The schedule for the exam can be found at this link.

• 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM: Cultural Talent Show Dress Rehearsal. Those who are participating in the talent show should be prepared with all necessary music for each act on a thumb drive for the ISY tech coordinators. One dressing room for females and one for males will be available for use; the schedule of the show will be given to all those participating at rehearsal.

Saturday

ISY International Day : 3:30-8:00 PM

• 9:00 AM: Country Booth decorating and set up for all those interested in helping country organizers. 23 Nations have registered to host a Country Booth this year; 
• 3:45 PM: Students are to arrive at ISY for the Parade of Nations line-up. All students should report to the SAS gymnasium.
• Parade of Nations and Opening Ceremony will begin at 4:30 PM; the Lion Dance, to celebrate the Chinese New Year, will take place at 5:45 PM, and the Cultural Talent Show will begin at 6:00 PM.

Dear Parents,

Thank you for your condolences and warm wishes towards Dr. Nyein Chan's family. This morning the HS students met and were informed of the death of Dr. Nyein Chan and the support available for them through this difficult time. The sea of black T-shirts was a testament to student respect, care, and love of a fellow Chinthe. 

Dr. Nyein Chan's funeral will be held tomorrow from 3:00-4:00 PM at Yay Way, Venue 1/A. If you wish for your child to attend the funeral, please arrange transportation along with a permission letter allowing your child to be dismissed from school at 2:00 PM. Please note, classes will continue until 2:45.

In addition, there will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony from 6:00-7:00 PM on Thursday at the ISY SAS Upper Terrace. Students, faculty, staff, and parents are welcome to attend as we celebrate Dr. Nyein Chan's life.

Please remember Monday, February 12, 2018, is a Holiday - Union Day - We will have no school on this day.
