I hope you all enjoyed a restful long weekend.  Please note the following important events taking place this week. 

• On November 27, 2017, Grade 10 students will begin the process of selecting their IB courses. (Schedule) On December 5, 2017, ISY will host a parent information evening for parents and students in grade 10. If you are a parent of grade a 10 students, please plan on attending the evening session. IB course selection forms will be due on December 7, 2017.

•  Monday, Nov 27, 2017, Australian University Fair:13 universities from Australia will visit during lunch.

• November 30, 2017, WWW High School Parent Information Session: On November 30, 2017, at 5:00 PM ISY will host a parent information session regarding WWW. Permission forms have gone home with students as well as sent home through email to parents.

• IB Exam Dates: ISY's grade 11 and 12 students will be taking their exams on December 7, 2017, to December 13, 2017. The schedule for exams can be found at this link. On exam days, students in grades 11 and 12 are only required to be on campus when taking an exam. Students who are sick on the day of an exam must have doctors note in order to take an alternative exam.

• Winter Concert: On Friday the secondary school will have their winter concert at ISY at 6:00 PM.  Please join us for a festive event.

This weekend's Family Fun Fair was a huge success. Thank you to all the families who attended this event.  We hope that you all enjoyed the food, games, and community environment.  ISY's Student Council and supervisors facilitated an outstanding event that brought our community together.

A few Items that are just around the corner: 

• November 23rd and 24th 2017 is an ISY Holiday: No School for Students

Dear Parents,

Thank you to all the parents who participated in parent-teacher conferences last week. They were a huge success. Thank you for being an active partner in your child's education. If you were not able to attend conferences but would like to meet with a teacher, please contact the teacher directly or the high school office to arrange an appointment.

On Saturday ISY hosted their first swim tournament. Thank you to the PE Dept and all those who helped make the event a success. It was great to see our students in action. ISY swim team won 35 gold medals, 21 silver medals and 15 bronzes medals in 35 events. We had 33 swimmers participate in this meet. Congratulations! ISY swimmers

This week the WrAP Writing Assessment grades 6-10will be taking place in English classes in grades 6-10.

ISY FUN FAIR - For those of you who are new, this is a family event that is organized by our high school student council. It is a big community event that includes games, activities and talent show. Please join us for the Fun Fair.

Dear Secondary Parents,

We look forward to seeing you on campus this Thursday or Friday for parent-teacher conferences. Your child’s involvement in the conferences is highly encouraged. Conferences are an opportunity to celebrate successes and to discuss how students can increase their learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Please note the following

• If you have not signed up for a conference, please do so through INSIS or contact the secondary office for assistance. 
• Each appointment is 10 minutes in length 
• Please make sure you account for passing time between conferences 
• Teachers will hold firm to the conference sign up times. If you are late to a meeting, your time will be limited to the scheduled time or a new appointment will need to be scheduled. 
• Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking a great deal.

Art Show: Grades 6, 7 and 8 first trimester art students will have an art show in the SAS MS / HS art rooms 301. Parents do not need an appointment to view the art show. The show will be up only during the PTC.

The Writing Assessment Program (WrAP) administration dates for grade 6-10 students have been changed from November 7-10 to November 14-17.
